The Big Cats are amongst the most iconic animals in our nature and most are critically endangered- five of the nine species of tiger have become extinct in the last 40 years and the situation is worsening.

The AWF projects:
Sri Lanka:
From the Asian Elephant project base in Kagell, the AWF will be collaborating with leopard conservation groups. Vietnam: The AWF is hoping to link with tiger conservation groups. Ghana: The AWF is linking with an Animal Rescue Sanctuary working with Tenet and Civit cats back in its breeding programmes with a view to put the animals back in the wild. Argentina: AWF hopes to set up a Puma research projects in the Andes.
