Conservation Campaigns
The main purpose of this section is to provide objective information to help individuals to form informed opinions on key conservation issues and indicate potential actions

Campaigns We have three key campaigns this year:

Global Extinction
Our new poster highlights the fact that we are on the verge of the world´s sixth global extinction event, the largest so far and one that will wipe out nearly 40 per cent of all species over the next 40 years. (the reverse of the poster is colour images of the 28 species of whale and dolphin resident to and visiting the Canaries) This poster is available free by sending in an A4 envelope with four first class stamps (3 for our use!!) to AWF St Martins House 59 St Martins Lane, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 4JN

Captivity
We are raising awareness of the plight of whales and dolphins in captivity- read the factsheets below and related sources of information and vote to make your voice heard on this issue. Vote

Hunting
The Japanese and their allies are on the verge of wresting control of the IWC (International Whaling Commission) from the hands of the conservationists. This will result in a large scale resumption of the great whales at a time when many of these species and facing the possibility of extinction. Register your protest, read the facts and sign the attached petition or the online form.
