'Volunteers don't get paid, not because they're worthless, but because they're priceless' - Sherry Anderson
Volunteering 2010/2011
AWF volunteers tend to be from all around the world and young. Most will be undergraduate and postgraduate
students although we are attracting an increasing number of young professionals and educationalists. All, care for our
planet – both social and environmental issues.
Our volunteering is based on experiential learning, that we learn and develop as human beings through experience.
Typically, volunteers will work on core projects three days of each week and two days work on their individual or
small team contribution based on their own particular skills or aspirations. No experience is required, only positive
attitude...

Global Networks
We are also endeavouring to build a global network of grassroots social and environmental
projects. The Earth Centre programme is designed, in part, to help us to identify and promote
more clearly these projects. The following databases are works in progress as it is very hard
to coordinate grassroots projects where funding is often inadequate and barely covers their
conservation activities.
