Volunteer as a Whale Watching Research Guide

We are proud to always ensure that our volunteer experiences are affordable for all. It is our mission to enable people from all walks of life to gain valuable practical and personal experience with us in the field. We offer the option of spreading out payments if this will help you join us (see below).

To join us as a Whale Watching Research Guide, out with our many partners on the Whale Watching boats of southern Tenerife, and help with our important behavioural research work, we ask for a contribution to cover the costs of your stay:

2 - 3 weeks - £250 per week
4 - 5 weeks - £200 per week
6+ weeks - £150 per week

The costs exclude flights. We also ask for £30 for your Research Guide T-shirt and Induction Pack.

Upon booking your place you will receive an confirmation email with all relevant contact information. A reminder of your remaining balance and money due will be sent 8 weeks before arrival and a member of the team in Tenerife will be in touch to arrange a video call with you, 2-3 weeks before arrival. If you have any questions on the meantime do not hesitate to contact a member of the team.

We can't wait to see you on one of our projects!

The Offsetting Voucher

Picture
Any volunteer that comes to the Atlantic Whale and Dolphin Foundation, will receive a £50 voucher, from the Fair Earth Foundation, for you to donate to the following three programmes; Climate Change, Plastic Pollution or the Community Action Programmes, in any combination you want to.

This is for stays of 3+ weeks.

You can choose one area to support or for example, £10 can go towards combatting Climate Change, £20 can go towards your Plastic Neutrality and £20 can go into our Community Action Programme, helping grassroots organisations around the world.

Make a donation, make a difference
You could be about to do something wonderful for our seas, shores and marine wildlife. Your donation will help AWdF programmes and ensure that the Atlantic Ocean is fit for life - clean waters and coasts supporting abundant marine life, healthy fish stocks and global sustainability.
